An extraordinary life

The beginning of the colonial life in America was rough. The British were unscrupulous in making the colony the most successful entrepreneurship so far out of the British Isles . It was not easy to sustain and maintain the order and leadership. However when it was finally done, the colony was thriving. It grew in territory very quickly by 1733 the English managed to build and owe 13 separate colonies. It was wide spread from the New Hampshire to the  South Georgia . The division was crucial, three groups of colonies emerged – each with its unique style of life and character. The most distinctive one was New England group. Its center Massachusetts was rich and fast-developing point mostly due to craftsmanship, fishing industry, farming. The soil was rich with nutriments, yet, stony and difficult to master. They governed themselves in small towns and villages. The fishing industry was crucial so the ships were built. They sailed to catch cod or trade with West Indies...

The Mayflower Compact & the Puritans

The Virginia Company gave the beginning of the society, the society which changed the shape of the USA , permanently. The newcomers didn’t let go the efforts they made.  The others followed, had to leave Britain . England underwent the process of inevitable and invariable changes, their status was uncertain. They were persecuted due to their faith and religious beliefs. They had to flee. It was 1620 a group of men and women decided to travel across the Atlantic in search of new opportunities, life free from persecution and injustice. The Pilgrims were searching for religious freedom. They are perceived as the most important founders of the United State of America . The change was invariable and must have had consequences. The Catholicism was the predominant faith throughout most of the centuries, it has been halted in the XVI one. Reasons varied, however, new doctrines, ideas, pride and wealth of the Catholic church played against its existence. People felt the faith ...

The Virginia Company: When Impossible becomes a way of life.

The urge to go and find a new world was something more than just a curiosity it was an escapism, a run away from persecution, underestimation and predominant violence that took place. People had chance to fight with it, instead, they chose the safest option at that time; they left everything behind. The sea was rough and unpredictable, however, no one was fearful, they knew, once they prevail, starting a new life will a new era. Exhaustion and disappointment were omnipresent on the ship, the hardship almost unbearable.   Time passed by … and out of the blue the shout was heard: Land! Land! On the horizon they spotted the land they have been searching for so long … Virginia . It was 26 th of April 1607. The river the new comers found was named James, to honor and cherish the King of England – James I. The hardship and unknown land made people tired and frighten, by the end of the year (approximately 8 months - 62.11% ) a bit more than half of the newcomers ...

America! Why America?

The common knowledge of who really discovered America is disputable – the first and obvious answer we are going to utter is – Christopher Columbus. However there are still some other factors worth looking at. It has been proven that the ancestors of Americans were present at this land long before Columbus has ever imagined his monumental and risky trip ahead, the peoples originated from Asia . There were couple of tales which described the onset of settling in America . One mentions the monk Hoei-Shin who made his trip from China to Mexico around 459AD.  Shortly after another brave monk, this time the Irish one – Brendan the Bold put his both feet on the sandy beach in 551AD. The Native Americans. The story where all begun.

American culture shapes the modern culture all In all very successfully. Let’s start it at the very beginning, how and when American dream begun. It was 3 rd of August 1492 when an Italian adventurer – Christopher Columbus set his trip from Spain to see and discover a new world – and the world itself. He looked for new routes to ship goods in and out, he searched for innovations which trigger the trade, made merchandise quicker, easier and much more efficient. He sailed south to Canary Islands , then explored the unknown waters of the mid-Atlantic Ocean.  He would probably never ever expected that ten weeks after he sailed off of Spain he stepped on the sandy shore of an unexplored island. He named it San Salvador – Holy Savior. He deeply believed he found Indies, and the islands which were not far fetch from India itself. He called its native settlers – brown-skinned people – Indians.
